| Hundreds Attend Funeral For Killed Marine Sat, 10 May 2008 23:03:39 -0400 Hundreds of family, friends, and fellow Marines say goodbye Saturday to a Mississippi Marine killed in Iraq. 22-year-old Lance Corporal Casey Casanova was laid to rest today in Lincoln County. The McComb native was killed by a roadside bomb last Friday. The services were filled with musical tributes and tearful memories of her dedication to the Marine Corps. Military officials gave Casonova's mother a Purple Heart during the service. Casey Casanova is believed to be the first woman from Mississippi to be killed while fighting in Iraq.
